What happens when you "die" on EVE online?

Im thinking about starting an EVE online account, however I dont want to lose my ship If I die. That would just totally suck and I would probably stop playing. For instance it would suck to have a capital ship, and then lose it because some Corporation decided to send everything they had out to get you.

Firstly, if you had a capital, you'd almost certainly only fly it when you've got the support with you should you get attacked. You do lose your ship when you die in EVE (which is why you should never fly what you can't afford to lose). High security space has the NPC faction CONCORD (Police) who will kill any illegal attackers (that is, attackers which have attacked you when you haven't stolen from them, or attacked you first, or a member of a corp your corp is at war with).

Have a go at the trial, see if you like it, and don't worry if you lose a ship - not everything's gone - especially if you're got a corp to back you up.

Sadly this 'gay panic' defence is used successfully to reduce charges to manslaughter. In New Zealand at least there are moves to remove this cowardly excuse from criminal justice system.

A transgender friend of mine was attacked (but not hurt) during the Christmas period too. Again it was during a sexual encounter. She is one of the happiest and most loving and generous people, and she'd been totally honest and upfront with the guy that beat her. Thankfully this experience will serve to strengthen her resolve, self-respect and dignity. It's too soon for her to decide to press charges.

    Thanks for raising our awareness.
