so why are you spending new years/eve online?
my family was going to have a party, but my brother and his wife and kids came over for about an hour, and then he got sick and started throwing up everywhere so they peaced. and my parents went to sleep ...it's 9:00. so i'm bored and have nothing better to do. jeez, the one thing i'm excited for in 2010 is moving away... work and save up a ton of cash so i can go travel and actually have some fun. i swear, i have the most boring family in the history of boring families.
im alone, and bored ;D

EVE Online - The Great Northern War
What should I buy my husband, he's not into sports, he plays Eve and Dark Age of Camelot online not much else?
Hubby is 40, not into going to bars/clubs that whole scene. He used to like paintball but he ended up always paying for everything when the guys got together. He likes shows like the Mega Machine shows and historical documentaries like on the History channel, not really into clothes.... not sure what I can get him.
Men are so hard to buy for!
Concert tickets to his favorite group
"The War" is out on DVD - it is a PBS documentary and suppposed to be really good.
If he likes the History Channel - how about a trip to the local natural history museum and a nice dinner?
My husband is hard to buy for as well! I know how you feel!

Eve and WoW are different, and I think it depends on what you like:
1) The single most important thing which is NEVER stated in reviews, is that in Eve Online you can be REALLY evil and people can be really evil back to you. You can be distroyed and even betrayed! In WoW, being evil is more of a fashion statement. The Horde in WoW do nothing more than 'dress in black' and slay things, just like the alliance. BUT could you handle Eve Online where there are more 'shades of gray' than 'black-and-white'?
2) Eve Online is more likely to outlast WoW because the whole game is updated to improve graphics and gameplay from time-to-time. Blizzard can't do this for WoW. BUT, WoW has greater visual impact at present. So do you want to play for the long-term or the short-term?
3) PvP or PvE?: Eve Online is far more PvP orientated.
4) Adrenaline rush?: Eve Online gives you a greater adrenaline rush – BUT this can be a bad thing!! You can 'lose more' if you get killed in Eve. PvP is more 'thrilling'.
5) Time commitment?: Eve Online is not so time consuming to progress.
