I have a free trial acount for 14 day with Eve on line I played yesterday and I don't know how to start a game?

How to start playing eve online?

First, you are going to need to download the client. There are 2 versions available, a classic and one with enhanced graphics. Choose the one that will be best supported by your system.

There is also a link to the player guide on that page, i suggest looking through that as well.

Eve has somewhat of a difficult learning curve for new players. Make sure to do all the tutorials! I can't emphasize that enough, you will be completely lost unless you do!

I want to get EvE online or some other science fiction strategy game. What are the payments for EvE online? Should I get Universe at War or Supreme Commander 1 or 2? Plz leave as many details. No rated M games. thanks

Eve is 15$ a month, plus buying the game itself.

Eve online is a game that some people like and most people hate. I hate it. I will warn you (and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying) that in this game, you will be waiting at least 2 or 3 months to actually do anything enjoyable in the game. Yes, 2 or 3 months. No, you can't get it any quicker than that. All of the game content aside from player vs. player is extremely boring, repetitive, and most of it stuff that you can just leave the computer to do it automatically.

So I would not advise buying eve online. It's not worth it in my opinion.

Supreme commander 2 is a fun game, though.

EVE Online. Is it worth it?

Can you control a 10, 100's, maybe even thousands of ships as you do in Beyond Protocol? Or is it one singular ship that kicks major ass?

You can only control one ship at a time, the ship you are piloting at the moment - be it peaceful mining vessel, cargo runner, ninja salvager or full-blown battleship brimming with torpedoes, lasers and drones (did I mention that ship range from about 10 meters to several kilometers?).

However EVE has a fleet system - largest fleet I was in was a low-sec mining op with support vessels, mobile base and a full fighter wing + 2 battleships as "backup" = 20 ships. But there are way larger fleets out there and larger battles to be held in alliance play (here you can hold systems, besiege enemy space stations and if you are lucky even see a titan class ship - this class leaves real wreckage when destroyed, with a small memorial thingy who killed it xD ).

So yes, you are on your own but should join a corp(oration) soon, that is what EVE calls clans or guilds. Corps can form alliances and then you are one 'empire' level if ambitious enough.

Now the question that matters: Is it worth it?
If you enjoy sandbox style of play (meanwhile EVE does have 'epic arcs' which are like campaigns but not quite as they are optional), if you can accept a game with pvp everywhere (however unprovoked attacks on you are punished by the police force when in high-security space) then go for it. It is way fun once you tackle the now not so steep learning curve (thanks to better tutorials).

Incompatible (version) means that the server version you're trying to connect to is higher than the client version. It means your client is out of date and needs to be patched.

If you have to reinstall every time you want to play, something's messed up with the installation or you're just not clicking the right icon on your desktop. Try going through the start menu -> programs -> eve online instead...
