Some games I can play : CS source, WoW, halo 1, guild wars, half life 2, EVE online,

I would suggest Company of Heroes.
I think you can play FEAR and Crysis. I have a 6800 and I can play both of them (well, according to minimum spec for Crysis). I had FEAR, so I would know.

Any MMORPGs out there that are not just a 'level treadmill'?

I played Ultima Online for about 7 years, they screwed up that game so bad it is now just a heaven for AOL punks...

I agree and disagree - I love Oblivion, but I don't think its charm would be there as an MMORPG. It's such a great game as is, I have a feeling if they tried to make it port to an MMO format it would collapse... Like trying to move a house of cards once its been built.
To answer your question, I would recommend Star Wars Galaxies. It's a great game I had a blast playing for the year and a half that I did (I ran out of time to keep playing when life caught up with me, so I let my account lapse)... The nice thing about the level system is that there is no "level 1, level 20, level X". You pick the classes you want to master and gain experience in them, and once you hit certain xp levels you can train in that "box". You get a certain number of AP and each box takes up 1-15 AP. I think it's 250 AP total, which usually amounts to being able to master a novice skill, 2 master skills above it, and a few other random skills. If you don't like your character's set up or just want to change things to keep it interesting, you can surrender skills to recover that AP and train in a new class. It's a very intuitive system that I think works better than any other I've seen for an MMORPG, especially since it allows for versatile characters, changing your profession if you decide to, and prevents a gap where players who have been at it for 2 years already aren't going to always be levels and levels ahead of you - once you hit master, you're as much of a master as anyone else. The challenge is in finding the best equipment and good complementary skill sets. Also, the commerce system in SWG is one of the best I've seen.

ok ive played Wow and got to high lvl, and i kinda bores me doing the same thing over and over again everything is easy and just wastes my time in wow, i played EVE online too and love the economic system in the game but the rest of the game is boring. So my real questions is, how close is Aion to Wow and should i switch from Wow to Aion? (if u say anything about runescape ill hunt you down >:) )

Both wow and Aion are good games. for me Aion is simply more entertaining than wow. If you ever played EQ back in the day you willl love Aion. people who are used to wow have problems with level 30+ due to grind times (if you have played EQ its nothing by compairison) if you would like a trial post up and email address and ill send you a code tomorrow.

Guild Wars VS EVE Online? Which one to pick? HELP NEED URGENTLY!?

I am currently in the process of deciding whether to play EVE Online or Guild Wars? I am a teenager and under 16 so which one? I can only play one as not much space on computer. Have enough for one however but which one is better? One that get's more votes will be one I play? Please help guys.... And girls!
Just want to say I don't mind paying the fee for EVE.

I hear EVE Online is great. I also hear that Guild Wars is great online. I personally would side with EVE Online if I had the cash. EVE is bigger I believe. Well about all 300,000 or so players are all in the same server pretty much. EVE Online holds the record for that. No other MMO has that. So there is always someone to run into and people aren't split up into different servers. I hear that sometimes in Guild Wars things are slow. I hear that EVE is pretty well balanced. Just depends on if you like spaceships or swords and arrows. haha. I am not a big fan of RPG games. I can't be certain of either though. Guild Wars certainly has its benefits and good sides too. I just think EVE Online offers more.

You will likely need a bigger hard drive at some point as MMOs are ever expanding. Updates all the time to keep things going.

I have yet to try either, but if I get a job soon I will be doing so. I am going to try EVE Online soon I believe. Just to see how it goes.

Another great thing about these two games though is that both are getting something new soon.

Guild Wars 2 is coming and a fresh new better RPG experience and story element to be in that game. As well as many other new features like anyone that takes part in local attacks and things gets the experience.

There is also Dust 514 and Tyranis coming to EVE Universe. Dust 514 is console MMO FPS. It will be free to play. Great thing about it is that it ties directly to EVE Online. You can manage and hire mercenary groups on EVE Online to take over planets, defend your planets, and things like that through 514 and they do it and get rewards for doing so and battling it all out. Of course some will lose and some will win, but it ties directly to EVE Online so they will want people that can get the job done. Sounds awesome and as soon as I can get into it I am going to be playing Dust 514 for sure. I love FPS. Tyranis is latest expansion for EVE coming soon. I don't know much about it though. I believe it lays the ground work for 514 to work with EVE Online.

Which of the following MMORPGs?

Which MMORPG do you prefer, and why? If you have played some/most/all of them, could you rank from favorite to least and give an explanation why? The more detailed answer you give of your opinion, the better your chances of scoring best question.

i have play over half of the games on the list above. I would just had to say that WoW maybe one of the biggest but it is also the one i quit the fastest after i found out that it was so much like the rest of them all like EQ2 and Dungeons & Drangons ....ect

WoW is a great game to play if it is one of your first but for 15 a month it is nothing specal for the same old same old.

on the other had i would say that your best offer on the list would have to be guildwars since there are now putting out expanshion packs and there is no monthy charge.

Other then that most of the other games every one is at the max level and there is no one to play with or there are no more subscibers paying becouse they max out and nothing more to do.

Trust me on when i say this ... you will get bord with any of these games after awile so just keep changing when new good ones come out.

Can you tell me all about Eve Online?

I'm a total noob to any sort of online gaming, so keep this in mind when you tell me: What is it, what do you do there, what is required for your computer to have it, is it a good game, yada yada. Anything you can tell me would be great. Thanks!

I'm a long-time EVE-Online player myself (nearly 5 years now), and personally I love the wide variety of choices you have in that game, I love that they add new stuff to do on a regular basis (twice a year), and last but not least I love that they let you trade in-game money for game time (and only for game time, "cashing out" is forbidden).
Any other online game has only managed to capture my attention for 2-3 months tops, but EVE online is still interesting after all those years.
Oh, and by the way - the average age of the EVE player is somewhere around 30 years... I've had in-game friends aged 12 to 70, but most were in the 25-35 age range.

Note that it's a cutthroat, hyper-capitalistic game with minimal rules, so just about everybody is a potential competitor, and most are potential enemies, so trying to get into a group of people as soon as possible (for mutual benefit, both in-game assistance and to learn the tricks of the game) is highly recommended. Of course, nobody can guarantee the guys you join are reliable or knowledgeable, so it's always a risk. You could try to avoid trouble, but you're NEVER completely safe, even in the safest regions of space. Simply carrying too much valuable cargo in your ship (even in the most secure area of the game) can be considered as good as an invitation to be shot at.
The only place where you are completely safe from attack is docked inside a station, but most of the fun happens in space. There are ways to have fun without ever undocking, but it's not something everybody would enjoy.
All losses are permanent, but you can always choose what you undock in, so you can always choose how much of your stuff you want to risk at any time.

If you never played any online games... that can be either very good (if you don't mind reading a lot of guides and other such materials) or it can be very bad (the fact that so many alternatives exist can be overwhelming for most new players, they can't focus on anything in particular and end up doing a little bit of everything but in a wrong way because they "didn't bother to do the research").

As for hardware requirements... if you purchased your PC in the past 3 years or so, chances are EVE will run just fine on your machine. A Pentium Dual Core at 2 GHz, 1+ GB of RAM, with a GeForce 8500 should be able to run the game in 1280x960 at maximum graphic detail settings with at least 30 FPS even in relatively crowded areas. Even older machines can easily handle the game fluidly at the lowest graphic settings.

It's a long-winded answer, sure... but it barely even scratches the surface.

I'm looking for a cheap gaming laptop. I know there's probably not one cause I've searched for them. But what's the cheapest one I can buy for eve online. It only needs to last for about a year. Thanks =]

Actually, you are in luck. Up until 3 weeks ago a half way decent laptop for gaming would set you back at least $800, but AMD just released their new processor line based on the Llano platform. They are called the A series processor. Like the Intel Sandy Bridge core i series, they have the ability to change their clock speed to match whatever task you are performing and they have integrated graphics built right into the cpu, but unlike the core i series, the A series has much superior graphics capabilities. It can run most of even the highest demanding games to at least their medium graphic settings all without a graphics card. You can't do that with the Intel chips. Anyone know any mmo's that really creates a bond between you and your character?

I'm looking for a mmo that make your character unique and lets your character follow their own path. A mmo where you can make your own choices and everyone has different strengths and weakness . Not anything like WOW where everyone looks mostly the same and everyone can only choose from 1 of the 3 talent trees. Something like EVE online (expect the ship part) but even more unique and is a fantasy type of game.

Champions Online seems like it would be a good fit with you- you can be good or evil, TONS of char customization, you get to pick and choose abilities as you level up and even your method of transportation (a couple of the options are flying, teleporting, super-speed, super-jumps...)
Even LoTRO, you have more customization and character direction than WoW.
All Points Bulletin coming out soon has a lot of that too, you mix-and-match logos and clothing, can be good or evil, and your strengths are partially determined by what quests you do (it's a FPS though)
